    The Heights

The photobook The Heights is a meditation on American masculinity through nostalgic portraits of muscle cars. The project by Matthew Porter needed creative direction that reflected this culture. I developed a design that referenced movie posters from the same era as the cars using illustration and custom lettering. The design shows how an intentionally loud execution can support and celebrate the artwork in the right context, in contrast to usual photo book convention. Finalist in the Lucie Photo Book Prize

  • Finesse

    Finesse

The exhibition, web and catalog design for the group exhibition Finesse at the Wallach Art Gallery in Columbia University. The show inspired by a quote on the act of finessing by artist Louise Lawler was curated art historian Leah Pires and showcases the work by Fia Backström, Pheobe D’Heurle, Jill Magid, Lucie McKenzie, Carissa Rodriguez and Karin Schneider. The design played with the notion of sleight of hand and playing card magic to capture the idea of finessing visually.
